See What You Mean

Enjoyed a talk from Owen at See What You Mean this afternoon, an interesting company specialising in producing interactive presentations using the concept of a 'big picture.' With clients ranging from Chelsea FC to emergency telecommunication specialists, they interpret the needs of the client and produce visual solutions that do anything from product promotion to conveying the content of a companies annual report.

Owen spoke about their working method, explaining the process behind understanding what a company needs to communicate. They do this through the implementation of workshops, where the client is able to break down the individual elements of their message for See What You Mean to begin to visualise.

I was particularly impressed by a project they were working on for Alcatel-Lucent, who have produced a portable '4G' network for implementation in war zones, disaster areas and other hard to reach places. We were shown a presentation that made this extremely complex device easy to digest, through a combination of well written dialogue and appropriate imagery, See What You Mean can communicate exactly what the client wants to say.

Owen left us with the quote 'Design is communication, not decoration' which is particularly true of the work of See What You Mean, check them out here.
